Christmas Parties, Weddings and the Dr.

Friday was my mom's 6th annual Daughters, Sisters, and Friday Christmas party. She has all the girls get together, eat lots of foods, have drinks (which I didn't get to partake in this year!) and play a bunch of silly games. It's alot of fun, and a good time to just get out and let loose and act silly like jr highers again.

This year we played some cute games...a few rounds of Left, Right, Center, then we had to pick up cotton balls with our noses (without using hands) after dipping it in vasoline and then race back to the other side and drop them off, we played Musical chairs...(I ended up in 3rd place!!) and had a 'snowball fight', chucking huge marshmellows at each other over a line of chairs. Oh, did I mention this was all at the Final Four. I'm sure everyone thought we were a bunch of idiots!! but that's okay, because we were! It was alot of fun! Looking forward to next year, so I can have a glass of wine or two, and take control in musical chairs! ;)

All of the ladies...
(PS> we had a slipper contest too, I wasn't just wearing bunny slippers at the bar for the fun of it!)

Saturday was Heather's wedding...and let me just say, she was one STUNNING bride!!! Jeff wasn't too bad himself either! The wedding was gorgeous and the reception was beautiful too! It was alot of fun to hang with everyone, outside of work, and catch up with a bunch of the girlies who have left us. Definetly a fun day!! I was all excited that night when I went to bed because I wasn't going to be all hungover the next day...however, Nolan decided to be up coughing ALLLL NIGHT and I didn't get ANY sleep, so I felt like hell the next day anyways. (I stink and forgot my camera!!!)

Nolan got a happy meal to eat because I didn't feel like making anything!

Sunday Night I worked, then Monday night we had dinner at the Jones' house with the LLCC basketball team and the coaches/wives. Ate alot of food, Nolan ran around like a wild man and we had alot of fun.

Did I mention it snowed yesterday too!!!!!

Poor boy has had a cough, so I wouldn't let him go outside and play

Miss Patty has been sick, so Nolan has been home from daycare the last two days. Yesterday, he got a daddy/Nolan day and today I got to hang out with him all day. He got to spend some of his day with me going to the Dr office, which he was NOT happy about. I swear the kid is traumatized by that place from our experience with the shots last time (as am I!!). Anywho, he had a cough that has been lingering so I wanted to get him checked out and on some meds before Christmas came. Dr. Phillips said just a little upper resp. infection and sinus cold, started on some antibiotics and breathing treatments if needed....which, he HATES both of those too, by the way! ;)

Love those eyes and that grin!

And this is my last week of my first trimester!!! Happy to say that it has really been a breeze and I'm hoping the remainder of my pregnancy is like this as well. I had it pretty easy with Nolan, but this time around it seems to be even easier. No more nausea, no getting sick, i'm not as exhausted...but the clothes are definetly starting to get a little snug...that part I'm not so thrilled about!! I can not believe that in 6 months or less, were going to have another little one!!!!! :) :) :) so excited...and still super nervous ;)

ahhh, never a dull moment in the Tierney household!

Weekly Wrapup

Went to see my cousin, Rebecca (who is a Junior at WHS), at the Madrigal Tea on Saturday. It was such an awesome performance. Me, my mom, sister and aunts make it a tradition to go every year and it really helps to get me in the Christmas spirit. I have actually been going since 2000 when Skylar and I first started dating. Loved watching him sing and dance around in tights ;) They sounded absolutely amazing though and it's hard to believe they are high schoolers. They sounded like a professional choir or something.  Fabulous!! and the 10 cups of Wasail were yummy too!

Williamsville High School Madrigals

Sunday I had to work all day...

Monday, I took Nolan to TJ's basketball game...they ended up losing by 3 in double overtime but it was a great game. Nolan got a bit antsy towards the end, but was such a good boy overall.
Nolan and Gpa watching the game

His new favorite word is "baketball." Once again, I know I keep saying this, but he just amazes me. He knows the difference between "baketball" and "Futball" and knows which ball is which, and what sport has a touchdown, etc. He is obsessed with watching sports...definetly our child! :)

 Look at that perfect form!

So handsome!

Tuesday, I had a Dr appt and got to hear my little nuggets heartbeat for the first time!!! 169 beats per minute! They say the higher the heart beat, the higher the chances of it being a girl...however, with my first appt with Nolan, his was 171, so I don't believe that one! Everything went great and I've actually lost a little bit of weight, which was a HUGE surprise to me because I have been eating SOO bad lately.  But, i'm 12 weeks this weekend and am gonna start being a good girl, eating better and taking my Prenatals!
There's a little baby girl at Nolan's daycare named Brea, so now, anytime I say anything about a baby or point to a baby, he says "Brea!!"

I got to have a mama's night out and went to dinner at Olive Garden w/ Morgan and Courtney. I hadn't seen Morgan since mid-October and was excited to see her cute little bump. The food was DELICIOUS and it was great to get together with the girls...no kids, no husbands and just catch up! Love these two and love what great friendships we have! I feel so blessed for each and every one of my friendships that I have!!

Wednesday we just hung out the three of us and stayed home and played. It was nice to just relax and not have 50 places to run to.

 Someone is STILL teething!!

Nolan and daddy rough housing...their nightly ritual!
 hahaha
Love our tree...

And tonight, Skys parents and niece came over for dinner before TJ's game...

So far, thats the excitement of our week...got a busy weekend ahead of us, as usual!

Fun...

Today, I saw the PERFECT post on Facebook that really just reaffirmed everything for me. Last night, I was at work talking with a bunch of co-workers about a friends upcoming wedding. I found myself feeling kinda bummed because I won't be able to drink at the wedding and get crazy. wild and silly with everyone since I am preggers...and let me tell ya, when the B.C. girls get together for drinks, it's definetly going to be a good time! So, naturally I found myself a bit 'jealous' that I'm going to be the sober one there, while the rest of the 'ya-who's' will be be-boppin around having a blast...

Then, I saw this....
at just the right moment. Any mama can tell you, that this says it all!!! Life has changed, priorities are much different these days, but I wouldn't give any of that up for the world.  We don't get to go out much (well, anymore at all it seems like) because life is so busy, but that's okay to me. These are the important days that we will build the rest of our life on. And while it is exhausting and stressful at times, I actually am having the time of my life!

Usually on Friday nights I work, but was off tonight. We had originally planned to have a 'date night' since we can't even remember the last time we went out just the two of us...but the week has been so busy, the 3 of us hadn't spent any time together so we decided to change plans. We got Smokey Bones To-Go, ate dinner, played football and monkey in the middle in the living room and that was our 'exciting' Friday night. And I found myself sitting on the floor while Skylar was wrestling with Nolan and thinking about what I read today and how much fun I was having. A different fun, but definetly the BEST kind of FUN!!! :)

PS. Don't get my wrong, once these little bambino's are grown up a bit, my fun will surely revert back to my 'old day fun' every once in a while too!! ;)

 Messy Boy!!!

 Check out those guns!

 Mama's boy!

We tried to get all 3 by the tree...IMPOSSIBLE!

Hope everyone has a "fun" weekend!!

Hello December...

Haven't been so good at this whole blog thing lately, but here's a little run down of our past week.

Thursday we went to the girls JV basketball game at Williamsville. Katie coaches the JV team at Athens and Rudy coaches Wville JV, so Skylar was calling it "The battle of our besties" ;) Nolan was pretty good the first half, then during halftime we let him run loose and play ball...then, halftime was over and it was time to sit back down again and he wasn't very happy. Needless to say, we had to leave with 5 minutes left to go because he was a crab butt. It was a really good game and I think Wville won by a few points.

Worked Friday night...

Then Saturday night was Tierney Christmas at Bob and Kelly's in Cornland. Sky had a game out of town so wasn't able to go, but Nolan and I went for a while. It was a nice time...looks of good food and it was good to see everyone, and even meet some family I had never met. Nolan had fun running around playing ball with Gwen and also adored Nate and Sarah's new sweet little baby girl, Violet.

(I was bad at taking pics these last few days!!)

Sunday my mom watched Nolan for a couple hours so we could get the Christmas tree put up and some things done around here. I don't know what my deal is this year, but I'm just not really feeling Xmas like I usually do. I only put up the tree and a few decorations here and there but didn't go all out like normal. And, i'm skipping on sending Christmas cards too! WHO AM I?!???! :( Anyways, we had fun putting up the tree and just hanging out, the two of us...which NEVER happens! Every since we started dating (almost 13 yrs ago!) we have gotten each other an ornament for the tree every year, so it was fun to go through all of those and 'reminisce' ;)

Finished Product...

Our very first ornament from 2000

Sky's attempt at those cute pics with kids and lights ;) haha! then these old school lights got super hot, so the photo sesh was cancelled!

Giving Mr Penguin a kiss "ni night"

Monday, we just relaxed...Tuesday, my mom took the day off work and we Christmas shopped all day. It was nice to be able to spend time with her and get some things accomplished too. Picked up nolan and went to my grandmas to hang for a couple hours to visit with her. She had surgery last week, so is stuck at home for a while, so we kept her company.

 Bedtime Stories
I absolutely adore these two!

Then last night, my dad and sister came out to the house and we at Vic's pizza and hung out and played with Nolan.

Someone was jealous that his dad was playing with Nolan!

Not a whole ton of excitement, but definetly never a dull moment around here!

Nolan ~ 16 months!

Happy 16 months Nolan! You are changing so much every day, it's unbelieveable! No Dr. appt this month (thank God!) so no new measurements, but you are still huge! ;) Two of your molars came in on top, and the 2 on bottom are starting to poke through too...which makes 12 teeth!

You have been walking/running like crazy now...took you a while to catch on, and your still a bit wobbly, but you've got it now. You are a talking machine. I can not believe all of the words you can say and you try to repeat everything, so mommy and daddy definetly have to choose their words wisely. You amaze me with your vocabulary, my little genius!

You are starting to lose your temper too, which is FABULOUS! I think you know we have another little one on the way and Mama is a bit nervous, so you're giving me a break...and FINALLY after all this time, you are cuddling me! You were never a cuddler... and now you crawl up in my lap and hug me and pat my back and give me endless kisses. I can't get enough of it!

We love you to pieces NPT!!!

We went to Festival of Trees on your '16 month birthday' - walked around and saw trees, rode the train, sat on Santas lap (you adored him ;) ), had lunch and enjoyed a yummy gingerbread cookie!

Yep, were the mean parents that made you sit on Santa's lap :)
 Not a happy camper!

 Riding the "Choo Choo"
 "Dad, more chips!!"

We had alot of fun...and went home and all took 2 1/2 hr naps! It was nice! :)
