Nolan ~ 16 months!

Happy 16 months Nolan! You are changing so much every day, it's unbelieveable! No Dr. appt this month (thank God!) so no new measurements, but you are still huge! ;) Two of your molars came in on top, and the 2 on bottom are starting to poke through too...which makes 12 teeth!

You have been walking/running like crazy now...took you a while to catch on, and your still a bit wobbly, but you've got it now. You are a talking machine. I can not believe all of the words you can say and you try to repeat everything, so mommy and daddy definetly have to choose their words wisely. You amaze me with your vocabulary, my little genius!

You are starting to lose your temper too, which is FABULOUS! I think you know we have another little one on the way and Mama is a bit nervous, so you're giving me a break...and FINALLY after all this time, you are cuddling me! You were never a cuddler... and now you crawl up in my lap and hug me and pat my back and give me endless kisses. I can't get enough of it!

We love you to pieces NPT!!!

We went to Festival of Trees on your '16 month birthday' - walked around and saw trees, rode the train, sat on Santas lap (you adored him ;) ), had lunch and enjoyed a yummy gingerbread cookie!

Yep, were the mean parents that made you sit on Santa's lap :)
 Not a happy camper!

 Riding the "Choo Choo"
 "Dad, more chips!!"

We had alot of fun...and went home and all took 2 1/2 hr naps! It was nice! :)

And then there were 4...

Yep, that's right!! We were happy to announce our exciting news on Thanksgiving, that we are expecting another little bambino! Actually, I wanted to wait another week to tell (even though I had already told alot of people!), but Mr Anxious talked me into doing it on Turkey day...which was good b/c we were able to tell families when we saw them!

So that's our excitement over the past couple weeks. We found out pretty early, so it's seemed like forever since we found out and went to the Dr. but baby #2 should be arriving in June! I am pretty excited...and bit anxious, and a whole lot of nervous. If anyone remembers Nolan as a baby, or has heard my stories, you will know exactly why I am feeling all of these feelings.  He was a very, very difficult baby...spent lots and lots and lots and lots of time crying and fussy, which made for one very stressed out mama. But everyone keeps saying, if you have one fussy one, you'll have one easy one....right?!?!?!?!? RIGHT?!

If not, we will get through it! That's why we decided to start trying so early...just get it all over with and not wait until we are too comfortable with Nolan, because he has really turned into such a good boy these past few months!

I love asking him "are you going to be a big brother???" and he gets a huge smirk on his face...or asking him where the baby is and he points to his belly and says "baby?" - he is the cutest!!! :)
The new shirt I made him..."Only Child Expiring June 2013"

So far, the past few weeks have been okay. Nausea here and there, nothing horrible. I just got hit with an AWFUL flu bug though, which was not fun. So, hopefully i'm getting over that and we will be back on track!

and here...we....go.... ;)

Turkey Day

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving this year! Spent the first half of the afternoon at Skylar's Aunt Deanna's house in Mechanicsburg. Tons of delicious food, good company and we even had good weather so that the kids were able to play outside. Nolan was loving it! They have an absolutely gorgeous house in the country with a huge patio overlooking thousands of trees...it's just beautiful out there!

Just singing in the car on the way there...
 Riding the Trike
I think Bayla was going to run him over at this point. He had alot of fun tormenting her when she wanted him out of her way or away from her toys ;)
Nolan and his buddy Diego...

We had alot of fun with the family, but it was time to move on to my families festivities...Jim and TJ wanted to ride home w/ us too and it looks like the boys were exhausted from all of that Tryptophan ;)

Next we went to my aunt Sandys for appetizers and desserts, and drinks (which I was not able to partake in this year!)

 Watching Football
 Marley and Amanda
Ninny and Nolan enjoying a chocolate cupcake w/ Chocolate icing!
 Spoiled little boy!

Aunt Keli snuggling Nolan for his bottle before we left...

All in all, it was a great, exhausting day spent with our wonderful families!

Not a whole lot has gone on the past week...

Thursday night we went to our newphew, TJ's, basketball game. It was pretty exciting...they played Mt. Pulaski and won in OT. TJ did awesome and we were so proud of what a good job he did!
 Making a free throw!
 Go Bullets!
Go #35

Friday, Skylar had a game, so Nolan and I went over to my moms and had dinner with her and my sister. We picked up Chinese and pigged out. I think my son is a communist because he didn't like ANY of it!! He definetly liked the ice cream we let him dig into after dinner though!

 What a mess!
He went straight to the bath after this...

I had to work all weekend and Skylar had class, so Nolan spent Saturday at the Tierneys and Sunday he hung out with Ninny. She brought him into work to see me since I was missing him. He was Mr. Antisocial! I took him around to see everyone and he was not saying hi or even looking at anyone! Maybe he is traumatized from delivery and the scrubs bring back memories?? ;) I tried to snap a pic of him at work...
Mr Bashful!

Then Ninny took him out to Festival of Trees and said he had alot of fun on the train. I can't wait to get him out there and see if he will sit on Santas lap. He did great last year...not so sure he will be as good this year!

Then last night we went to our neice, Sydnie's, Veterans Day program. It was really cute and the kids did an awesome job. Nolan was singing and clapping and wallering all over the place. We all had alot of fun!
Uncle Skylar and Sydnie

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

M.I.A

I've been pretty bad with computer stuff, taking pics, etc this last week, but here's our past few days wrapped up in this little blog...

Worked Friday night...BOO :(

Saturday it was GORGEOUS outside so my mom, Nolan and I walked over to the Williamsville football game and enjoyed the nice weather and atmosphere. Sadly they lost at the last second, but it was a great season for them!

 Marley Man
Go Bullets!

Saturday night and most of Sunday we spent hanging out at the Tierney's house. Skylars brother and his girlfriend Sarah were in town for a few days before heading to the Virgin Islands for 6 months. Half of the year they live there and the other half in Glacier National Park. I know, sounds awful, right ;) ;) ;) So we all just sat around and visited and ate food ;) It was nice!

Monday, Nolan and I had a date day...well, so I had planned. We went to the mall to get him some new shoes and then were going to go out to lunch...then he got super crabby on me for trying shoes on him, wanted out of his stroller, threw a fit, and then fell asleep as soon as we got in the car...so our 'date day' turned out to be a whole lot of fun ;) I did find him some cute new kicks though!

My dad came over for dinner Monday night and brought Mick...omg, I just love that (huge) puppy!!

Sadie is a little chicken and was a little scared of him...
Chance just tried to act all big and bad...

Nolan wasn't so sure about his sharp little teeth, but loved this!
Such a sweet boy!!

Last night, Nolan and I headed over to dinner at Courts. Ate some yummy soup and the kids played together...it was nice to get out of the house and visit for a bit and watch the adorable kids be wild child's ;)

Ok, blogs are so boring without pics, so I am going to make a better effort to take more pics!!

Poor little bum....

So, I thought maybe I'd try and be thrifty and save us like $10 every couple weeks and try Nolan out on some generic Wal-mart brand diapers...I mean, I'm all about the Great Value brand food, so I thought i'd give these 'Parents Choice' diapers a try, since they were half the price! Figured they would maybe not hold as much pee, but would be okay for throughout the day since he is changed every couple hours....boy, was I was wrong!

Put Nolan in one of the diapers at 7am and sent him off to daycare...by 8:15, his morning poop time, he already had a horrible diaper rash...less than 2 hours in these cheapo's!! I've heard of this happening to other kids before but didn't think it would happen to Nolan because he doesn't have sensitive skin or anything.

It is absolutely horrible and I feel so sorry for the poor boy because I can't do anything about it. Stuck him in the tub to soak after I picked him up and he just sobbed and wanted out (this kid LOVES baths and usually throws a fit when I try to get him out!)...tons of butt paste, powder, desitin, and it still looks absolutely awful. And to make it worse, he has had two poops tonight too.

Anyone have any amazing tips on getting rid of a bright red, miserably sore little bum??? My poor little baby :( THIS is when Mommyhood is really hard...I can deal with all of the fits, crying, etc. but not being able to help my baby when he is in pain is the worst! Makes me thankful though that he is healthy, and this is only temporary. I can't imagine what some mothers go through that children with a horrible illness....

Advice mommies...PLEASE!!! :(

On a happy note...I put together Nolan's battery operated four-wheeler, that my dad got him when he was 4 months old and he was loving it!!!!!!! Too bad we don't have more space though b/c he was getting a little ticked once he'd run into a wall or couch or something and was pushing the button and it wouldn't go anymore...

Sweet ride!!

Weekend in Tinley

This weekend we went to Tinley Park and stayed with Melissa, Jim and Baby Bryce. Skylar had his Masters class in Lisle, IL which was about 30 miles from their house, so we figured it would be a perfect opportunity to go and visit. We got there a bit later than expected friday night after 4.5 hrs in the car (it usually takes 2.5!!) because we were stuck in stupid traffic and had to take a different route, etc. Ughh, needless to say, I love living in my small little town ;)

Saturday Skylar was off to class and Jim had stuff to do, so we just hung out w/ the boys. It was so nice to just be able to sit down and visit with Melissa and watch the boys interact. They had fun. Bryce is the happiest baby I think I have ever met...Melissa and Jim say differently and that we just caught him on a good day ;) I think they are full of it!!

 Our little droolers!
 Happy baby!! :)
Best buds!

The guys got home and we ordered some DELICIOUS pizza and Jim started a fire in the fireplace and we just sat around and relaxed. It was such a good weekend to not be going, going, going and to spend time with some good friends! Thanks again for having us guys, we had a great time and really appreciate it!
Nolan was exhausted from the trip and time change! ;)

My little Frankenstein!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Got Nolan's costume the day before Halloween, but was pretty pleased with it...such a handsome little monster. His walking is still pretty unsteady too, so he totally looked like Frankenstein when he would walk! ;)

Went to Grandma and Grandpa Tierneys, Aunt Sandys, Aunt Kathys and Ninny's...and that was enough!! Looking forward to next year when he can walk door to door...

And we got to see Marley man, the little Pirate. He was so adorable and cute w/ "Nonie" (that's what he calls Nolan). Love that these little boys will be growing up together and will be buddies!

Have a good weekend Friends! I have a MUCH NEEDED weekend off and we are heading to Chicago to spend the weekend with the Westerbergs!!
