Pictures, Pumpkins and Puppies, oh my!

We had a busy week last week! Tuesday, I got to see Meghan, Scottie and sweet little miss Finley for a bit..
She is so stinkin cute!

We had family pictures that afternoon...I was so excited. Beautiful fall day, outfits matching, ready to get some good fall pictures that I have been looking forward to since our last pic session (when it was 103 degrees!!)...and then, Nolan had a COMPLETE meltdown...basically the entire photo session. UGHHHHHHHHH, NO FUN! We haven't gotten all of the pictures back, but somehow, Amy...the amazing photographer (http://www.amyjoyphotos.com/) managed to get at least 3 cute pictures that we've seen! I figured the entire shoot was a bust by the way he was acting, so I guess I'll take it!! :)

Then we came home and did our first family pumpkin carving. Nolan was H-I-LARIOUS! He was such a little sissy boy. Wouldn't put his hand in the pumpkin and was completely grossed out. We were on the kitchen floor and by the time we were done, he was all the way under the table because I kept trying to make him help me and touch the orange stuff...we were cracking up!

Daddy gave Nolan a bath, while I got to finish carving and enjoy a glass of wine :)
So creative ;)

Wednesday was Nolans 15 month appt...and it was also another not so fun experience. I called earlier in the day and they told me no shots, so I didn't make Skylar go to the appt with us. Then we get there and come to find out he had to get FOUR!! And mama can't handle that!! 2 nurses had to hold him down and another to give the shots and I sat in the corner crying and cringing while he screamed on the top of his lungs! TRAUMATIZING! :( and I was so stressed, I forgot to take a picture of him there...something we have done every single appointment :(

Dinner and hanging out at my mom's on Thursday...

Nolan and Ninny jamming to music on the IPOD

We went to my Grandmas for dinner on Friday night for her birthday and my dad brought his new St Bernard puppy, Mick. OhMyGosh, he is absoluetly the cutest, sweetest thing. He was tired and a little nervous from all the chaos/noise, but was such a sweetie. I can't wait for him to get big, so Nolan can crawl all over and try to ride him like he does with my moms dog, Katie!

 Welcome to the family, Mick!!

Nolan lovin' on Katie

Then, my weekend consisted of working all day Saturday, Sunday...and Monday too. Let's see how exciting this week will be...

NPT ~ 15months!

15 months! Oh my gosh, Nolan Patrick, where did time go?! You are getting so big, so fast! Well, who are we kidding...you've always been huge, but you are just changing so much and becoming such a big boy all of the sudden :(

Measurements: 29lbs (99%ile), 33.5 inches long (99%ile), and 49in head (98%). Of the charts, chunky monkey! You definetly love to eat...especially pringles, which is currently your favorite food right now. You still have your little spitfire attitude and love to throw your fits...but i'd like to think that it's getting a tad bit better. I always say, When your happy, your HAPPY! But when your not, your definetly not!

Still a great sleeper...bed by 8p, up around 7a and "night, night" time is the only time you get a paci these days. We still do a bed time bottle, which I'm sure I'd be able to get rid of, but that's really the only time you sit still and we can cuddle you, so I'm being selfish and keeping it a bit longer. You get so excited to brush your teeth and you absolutely LOVE bathtime and to read books. Your favorite game is chasing and hiding from Sadie and Chance...they are your best buds! (besides mom of course!)

Had to do it!! such a cute tush!

You take your steps and walk only when you want (which you finally decided to just start doing a week ago) but still are preferring to crawl for the time being. Dr Phillips says that you are advanced for your age in talking though...saying about 25-30 words!! I have to agree with her, I know I'm your mama and all, but I do think you are SUPER smart, and every single day you do something that amazes me!!!

Always excited when football is on! "Touchdown!!"

Somedays you stress me the heck out w/ your attitude and make me very, very nervous that get pregnant again someday...I'm not sure I can handle another spitfire like you! But I am absolutely crazy about you and love you more than words can say and really can not imagine or remember life without you.

We have a walker!...

Well, he finally did it! Nolan FINALLY decided to walk...4 days short of 15 months! And, I will be honest, I was started to get a little worried. I know they say you shouldn't ever compare your children to others because they all develop differently, bla bla bla, but who are we kidding?? We all do it! It's too hard not to! So, I was seeing all of the kids around Nolans age walking around and was starting to wonder if something was wrong...especially since they had been walking for a few months. Everything I was reading was saying not to worry until 18 months and that it was okay because he was born 3 weeks early, and I walked late too, etc., so I tried to stay positive, but was getting very impatient. The kid has AWESOME fine motor skills and is talking and seems to be developing on track in that sense...so I just kept listening to everyone say, "dont worry, he will do it when he is ready."

And the little turd decided to do it when I wasn't there to see it for the first time! He had taken a couple steps for my mom, walked at daycare, then walked at Gma and Gpa Tierneys house, all before he wanted to show mama his skills. But, I got home after a loong day of work, and thankfully he was still awake and in a good mood and walked for me :) (Of course, it was for a pringle...his favorite snack!)

He's still a bit wobbly and not walking all the time, but I'm still proud of my big boy :)

Saturday night, we went to the Bressan Halloween party! It was alot of fun...and great to see everyone. The kids all had alot of fun playing and were all dressed up so cute! Makes me so happy that all of these kids will be growing up together and will be buddies for years and years to come! :)

Lot's of Celebrations last week!

Nolan had his first trip to the circus last week! We went to the Sherman circus with my dad and sister and for the majority of the time, he sat there with his serious "bulldog" face and took it all in. Then got excited after a bit and was jumping around and clapping and pointing...which then led to him getting tired and cranky and mad because I wouldn't let him crawl all over - the kid is so predictable! ;)
 "Bulldog"
And he even got to ride an elephant with Poppy!!! (wish this pic was a littler brighter!)

Thursday night we had dinner at the Tierneys to celebrate Grandpa Jim's birthday. Nolan was having a blast goofing off at the dinner table...as he usually does when Grandpa is around ;)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA JIM!

And I was SO excited because I was off Friday night and didn't go back to work until Sunday night! Which actually got changed to Monday...so I had an ENTIRE weekend off - that NEVER happens! We spent the weekend eating mostly (We planned to start eating better and taking better care of ourselves on Monday, so we were going out with a bang)! Went to Steph's graduation on Friday night where she was asked to speak...and did a great job! Then to Smokey Bones for dinner.
Syd, Steph, and TJ
Saturday was my dad's birthday so we went to my grandma's for breakfast. It was a lazy day and was raining and cold, so it was nice to just veg out and relax and visit.

Saturday night Skylar and I had a 'date night' and went to eat at Darcy's...yuuummm!  Nolan had a sleepover with grandma Cindy, and we went to a cookout at the Triggs after dinner, however we are so old and lame and were home and in bed by 11:00.  Oh, how life has changed! We were supposed to have pictures done Sunday but the weather was crazy, so were gonna try again next week.
Ninny came by and brought Nolan some new PJ's and a toy that he loves!

Then Sunday night I went to Osaka for Lindseys baby shower and got to catch up with a bunch of the Birth Center girls who have all left me :(

Here she is with her Virgin Strawberry Daq!

And that's our exciting week wrapped up in a blog ;)

Homecoming Week!

Last week was pretty uneventful for us, which is nice compared to the past few weeks we have been having. We took Nolan to the homecoming parade on Wednesday night....not sure what he would think about the loud noises and sirens, etc. but he didn't mind one bit. He loved the firetrucks and big tractors. Here he is with his aunt Steph.

His favorite cousins were in the parade, TJ and Sydnie, and Sydnie even gave him his 'special' treats instead of the regular candy they were throwing out...Pringles and Cookies...his favorite! How sweet :)
Nolan loved the suckers...
And his aunt Keli too!

After the parade, we all we over and had a yummy dinner at the Tierneys. Nolan loved playing in his little car that he neighbors let him use...then pooped through his diaper and got mad at us and threw a fit when we got him out to get him in the bath. ahh, never a dull moment :)

That's about all of our excitement for the week. Skylar had class Thursday night and was gone late, so Nolan got to have a glowstick bath to kill sometime. He loved it...swinging his arms around all over the place giving mama a light show ;)

I was really hoping to take Nolan to his first football game on Friday and watch the Bullets kick some Warrior butt, but it was just too cold out, so we relaxed at home. Then Saturday and Sunday I left for work at 6:30am and got home both days at 8pm...so, i'm happy that 'Mrs. Patty' has the day off today and I get to spend the day with Nolan!!

Although he sure does have fun at daycare. I picked him up the other day, came home and got ready for the parade...went in the other room to do something and came back to find him laying in the middle of the living room floor watching TV. He NEVER does this...I had to snap a pic! The boy was worn out!! Hahah love him to pieces! :)

Baby Bryce, Beautiful Bride, Bye Bye Binky!

Another busy, but good weekend in the Tierney household. Friday Nolan and I got to go and hang out with his buddy Bryce for a little bit. Bryce is 5 months old and such a stinkin cutie!!!

I still can't believe the difference in size between the two...seems like such a difference from the last time we saw them about 2 months ago. Nolan looks massive next to him! And they are both little drool monters!

Anyway, he smiled and coo'd and sucked his thumb and was such a good boy. Nolan on the other hand, decided to throw yet another one of his temper tantrums! So, we went outside, had a mother/son talk and regrouped, then he was all smiles and ready to crawl all over Bryce. So good to see the Westerbergs...I am so happy Nolan and Bryce are only 9 months apart so they can grow up and be good buddies, but I really, really really wish they lived closer to us :( We don't get to see them nearly enough.

Worked all night Saturday, slept for 3 hours Sunday and got up and hung out w/ my boy for a bit, then Skylar and I had a 'night out'. We went to the Rail to celebrate Jenny and Michaels big day! Congrats to the Vieiras!!

It was a perfect day for a wedding, the bride was absolutely gorgeous, everything was so pretty, food was delicious, fun times with good friends...there was even a hilarious photo booth with a ton of props to dress up in, which was a riot!

Unfortunately, I was STILL not feeling good from this stupid 2 week sickness i've had, so we ended up leaving the reception early. I told Skylar I think it was the first time EVER that I had left a wedding reception before it was over, AND sober! It was definetly weird! But, all in all, we had a good time.

That's about all the excitement going on here. On a very great, exciting note, for the past 2 weeks, Nolan has only been getting his paci at "night night" time! I was so stressed about taking that thing about from him and it was sooo easy. When I get him out of bed, he rips it out of his mouth and chucks it in his bed, its so cute! So this mama's much happier keeping the bink in the bed!

AND, I can FINALLY say how excited I am for two of our very good friends, because they are expecting a little nugget on April 1st!!!!!!!! soo happy for the Becks!
